Three Generations

In 1948, the first Solis body shop was created in East Los Angeles.  The owner, Richard G. Solis named it “Richards Body Shop.”   A few years later the shop sold and he joined “Datsun Downey Body Shop.”

This is where his son Richard (often known as Rich) was first introduced to working in the auto body industry.   Fresh out of high school, he got a job as an painters apprentice and this is where it all started. Rich and Rich and RichieIn 1974 Rich worked as an estimator for State Farm Insurance Company. In 1977 they offered him the opportunity to relocate to Northern California. Cameron Park became his new home, and it was there that he and his wife Sandi raised their two children Rich Jr. (Richie) and Jennifer. Rich continued to work for State Farm for the next couple years. Through networking and a reputation as a honest business man, he was offered the General Managers position at a local body shop.

In April of 2001, Rich had the opportunity to open his own body shop. Thus was the begining of Solis Collision Center

While in high school Richie started working with his Dad. In 1988, he graduated from Oak Ridge High School and enlisted in the Marine Corp.  After serving in Desert Storm he moved back to Northern California. In 2003, Richie joined the family business. His hard work and knowledge of the industry has been vital to the growth of Solis Collision Center.
